An early 1930's magnifying glass which belonged to a Jewish lady who escaped Nazi persecution in Austria in 1937. She was a seamstress by profession and used the glass in her work. It is made from cream coloured, pressed celluloid with a grape and vine leaf pattern and an interesting pair of retractable handles. It has a strong magnification suitable for examining stitching or executing drawn thread-work.
